Accessibility

We design and test this website against WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Where a component cannot yet meet that standard, we record it as a known limitation and prioritise a fix rather than removing the disclosure.

The following are standing requirements for this site.

• Semantic HTML landmarks, one H1 per page and a logical heading order.
• Visible focus states and a skip-to-content link on every page.
• Full keyboard operability, including the navigation, filters, forms and cookie banner.
• Text contrast that meets AA against both the obsidian and porcelain surfaces.
• Descriptive alternative text, with concept and illustrative imagery labelled in visible captions.
• Support for prefers-reduced-motion: animation is reduced to near-zero duration.
• Form fields with persistent labels, clear error messages and no reliance on colour alone.
• No autoplaying audio, and no motion that cannot be avoided.

Portfolio filtering announces results as text rather than through a live region; this is scheduled for improvement. The AI assistants are not yet enabled, and their voice interface will be tested for captions and keyboard control before release.

We test with keyboard-only navigation and screen readers on desktop and mobile. If you use assistive technology and encounter a barrier, we treat it as a defect.
