Categories we use

Cookies are grouped into four categories.

  • Strictly necessary — security, load balancing, consent state. Always active; cannot be disabled.
  • Functional — remembering preferences such as reduced motion or a chosen assistant. Consent required.
  • Analytics — cookieless, aggregate measurement of which pages are read. Basic page counts run under legitimate interest without cookies or identifiers; anything that could link one visit together requires consent.
  • Marketing — campaign measurement. Not currently used; would require consent before activation.

What our analytics actually measures

Measurement is first-party and self-hosted on our own infrastructure. No third-party analytics script, advertising pixel or tracking cookie is loaded, and no analytics data is sold or shared.

Without your consent we record only a non-identifying page count: the page path and title, the referring website's domain, a device class (mobile, tablet or desktop) and the browser window width. We do not store your IP address, your full browser user-agent string, any cookie, or any identifier that would let us recognise you again.

If you enable analytics, we additionally record which primary calls to action are used and attach a random key held for the duration of your browser tab, so a single visit can be understood as one journey. That key is discarded when the tab closes and is removed immediately if you withdraw consent.

Third parties

Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. Analytics and AI processing providers are engaged under contract and act on our instructions. We do not permit providers to use your data for their own advertising.

Retention

Consent records are retained for up to 24 months, after which the banner is shown again. Analytics identifiers, where enabled, are short-lived.
